The Surge blast the griffins

On June 2, the Wallaceburg Griffins Development U9/U11 program came to St. Thomas to take on our Surge players. This marked Wallaceburg's first games of the season, and they put in a strong effort from start to finish.

From the opening whistle, the Surge came out flying and took control of Game 1, earning an impressive 8–0 victory. The growth and development of our players over the past two months has been tremendous, and it's exciting to see all their hard work coming together on the floor.

In Game 2, new players were added to the lineup and continued the strong team performance, helping the Surge secure a second convincing win by a score of 7–2.

The Surge would like to thank the Wallaceburg Griffins for making the trip and competing with great sportsmanship. We look forward to the rematch when we travel to Wallaceburg on July 4.

history MADE - Surge play blue devils in first games ever

May 16th, 2026 will be forever the day St. Thomas Surge lacrosse emerged more than an idea. The Surge invited the established London Blue Devils to the Joe Thorton Community Centre to hit the floor in the first ever lacrosse games. Over 100 athletes from U7-U11 ages enjoyed the high-energy atmosphere brought by families, friends and teammates. The Surge U9 program took home a late 5-4 win with 4 of the 5 goals scored by our female players. Hudson scored the first EVER goal in St. Thomas Surge history and was presented with a free stick from Canadian Tire’s Dave Fraser. The U11 fought valiantly but unfortunately fell 10-3 to a more seasoned team. The Surge U9/U11 team will play June 2nd to the visiting team Wallaceburg at 7:00pm. Come check out the Surge!

Week 2 - Teaching the basics, preparing for games

Week 2 continued the building of our lacrosse community. The coaches welcomed new players and began preparations for the first EVER lacrosse games held for the community of St. Thomas Lacrosse. May 16th, 2026 the St. Thomas U7, U9 and U11 program will play against the London Blue Devils in a cross-over house league event. Come watch the fastest game on 2 feet and support this new chapter in St. Thomas history.

April 19th Try lacrosse on the floor - history made!

The April 19 “Try Lacrosse” event was a tremendous success, filling the Joe Thornton Presstran Arena with both registered and new young players. This marks the first time organized lacrosse has become a staple in the St. Thomas recreational community. Players aged 4–11 took to the floor and proudly demonstrated their developing skills. They also had the exciting opportunity to experience a real game scenario on the Presstran floor. Arena staff are working hard this week to have the floor painted and ready for practices and games ahead of our official season kickoff on Tuesday, April 21.

March 24th and 26th try lacrosse continues the momentum!

The St. Thomas Surge Lacrosse movement is taking over the city by storm. Every week, new families are showing up to support this growing attraction for young people in the community. With young girls and boys participating and competing together, lacrosse is making an early mark. Thanks to Coach Louis, Coach Spencer and Coach Gerald for helping these young people learn about this new outlet for families.
